Okayama Sushi restaurant in San Jose California

While in Santa Clara, I drove to Japan Town in the nearby town of San Jose. I had lunch at a place called Okayama Sushi (565 N 6th St, San Jose, CA 95112, United States).

I did a sketch while eating a bento box.

I then went around the area and bought a cup of coffee at Roy’s Station where I did a sketch on my last visit there in 2012 (See my post Sketching in San Jose – California)

Largo di Torre Argentina in Rome

My wife and I went to Rome for a few days. It was a wonderful visit. Our hotel was looking onto a square called Largo di Torre Argentina, with the ruin of Roman temples in the middle.

Before we went for our visits, I manage to do a sketch on two consecutive days. The dome of two nearby churches were visible beyond the buildings on the square (you're never far away a church when you walk through the centre of Rome).

Large Spindle Piece by Henry Moore

This bronze sculpture, on loan from the Henry Moore Foundation, it located in front of  London King's Cross railway station. You can read more on this sculpture " based on a flint from which Moore made a casting in clay" on the site of the Henry Moore Foundation.

To fully appreciate a sculpture, you need to go around it. To replicate the experience, I took multiple pictures.

Bus travel sketches

Travelling always comes with dead time and sketching is a good way to use it.
